The motorcycle featured in our logo is our own NSR250R MC21, photographed during a track day session with me in the saddle. Every time you see our logo, you're looking at a machine that represents everything we love about motorcycles: performance, engineering excellence, and the pure thrill of riding.
A True Two-Stroke Legend
The Honda NSR250R MC21 was produced during the golden era of Japanese two-stroke sport bikes. Built between 1990 and 1993, the MC21 generation is widely regarded as one of the most advanced 250cc two-stroke motorcycles ever created.
Powered by a liquid-cooled 249cc V-twin two-stroke engine, the NSR delivered an incredible power-to-weight ratio. With a dry weight of around 140 kg and a razor-sharp chassis, it offered performance that embarrassed much larger motorcycles on tight roads and race circuits.
What made the NSR truly special was its character. Below the powerband it felt relatively tame, but once the revs climbed and the exhaust valves opened, the bike transformed into a screaming race machine. The explosive surge of power and the unmistakable sound of a high-revving two-stroke created an experience that modern motorcycles simply cannot replicate.
Racing DNA
Honda developed the NSR250R directly from its Grand Prix racing program. The MC21 inherited technology inspired by Honda's championship-winning GP machines, including the famous gull-wing swingarm design, lightweight aluminum frame, and advanced suspension geometry.
A Tribute to Daijiro Kato
The Telefónica MoviStar livery featured on our NSR250R MC21 is more than just a striking race-inspired paint scheme. For us, it is also a tribute to one of the greatest riders of the two-stroke era, Daijiro Kato.
Kato became a legend through his spectacular performances in the 250cc Grand Prix World Championship, where his aggressive riding style, exceptional corner speed, and determination earned him fans around the world. Riding Honda's factory RS250 Grand Prix machine, he dominated the 2001 250cc World Championship, winning an incredible 11 races on his way to the title.
In 2003, after moving up to MotoGP, Kato suffered a tragic accident during the opening round of the season at Suzuka. Despite the efforts of medical teams, he succumbed to his injuries shortly afterwards. He was only 26 years old.
The Telefónica MoviStar colours on our NSR250R serve as a reminder of that remarkable era of motorcycle racing and of a rider whose talent and passion left a lasting mark on the sport. Every time we look at this motorcycle, we remember not only the excitement of two-stroke racing but also one of its brightest stars.
