5. Fitment Details
This is a direct OEM replacement. To install, do not use petroleum-based lubricants, as they can degrade the rubber over time. Instead, soak the rubbers in warm water for a few minutes to soften the material, which makes sliding them onto the footpeg much easier. A rubber mallet can be used to gently tap them into their final seated position. Since these are high-wear items that harden and crack with age and sun exposure, replacing them with fresh OEM rubber is one of the easiest ways to improve the "finished" look of a restoration.
