This genuine Yamaha factory-original fuel filter cup (sediment bowl) is designed to mount onto the bottom of the fuel petcock assembly. It acts as a settling chamber, catching heavier-than-fuel debris, sediment, and water before they can enter the carburetor jets. Made from durable, fuel-resistant polymer materials to OEM specifications, this cup ensures a reliable seal under constant exposure to modern fuels, helping prevent carburetor clogging and engine hesitation.

Note: This specific plastic petcock bowl was standard across many of Yamaha’s iconic 1980s 2-stroke enduro lines (IT series), classic street mopeds (FS1 & Chappy), and regional light-displacement models. Always verify your petcock body configuration before ordering to ensure the thread pattern matches.

Fitment Details

This is a direct OEM replacement. When servicing or replacing the cup, thoroughly clean the internal petcock threads and inspect the internal mesh screen (typically fuel filter net 4X8-24515-01). To prevent fuel leaks and fire hazards, always replace the sealing gasket (O-Ring / Gasket part 4X8-24565-00) when reinstalling the cup. Thread the cup on by hand first to avoid cross-threading the aluminum threads of the petcock body, and tighten securely but do not over-torque to avoid splitting the gasket or cracking the bowl.
