Product Description

This is a genuine factory-original Piaggio generator rotor (flywheel magneto). It features integrated permanent magnets that spin around the stator coils to generate the electrical current required for the ignition system and battery charging circuit. This specific rotor is engineered exclusively for Piaggio Group's air-cooled 50cc and 100cc 4-stroke, 2-valve (4T 2V) hi-per4 engine blocks.

Note: This component does not fit newer 3-valve (3V) iGet engines, 4-valve (4V) variants, or any 2-stroke models. It replaces legacy Aprilia part number AP8551077.

Vehicle Compatibility

This flywheel is widely used across Piaggio, Vespa, Aprilia, and Derbi 4T 2V platforms:

Fitment Details

To access the flywheel, remove the cooling fan shroud and the plastic fan blades from the right side of the engine casing. Use a dedicated 26mm x 1.0mm right-hand thread flywheel puller tool to pop the rotor off the tapered crankshaft spindle; never hit the rotor with a hammer, as this will shatter or weaken the internal permanent magnets. Before sliding the new rotor into place, clean the crankshaft taper thoroughly to remove any oil or grit, and verify that the woodruff key is seated securely in its slot. Slide the rotor on, align the keyway, thread the retaining nut by hand, and torque it to the factory specification of 40–44 Nm while holding the flywheel steady with a proper universal holding tool.
