Product Description
This is a genuine factory-original Piaggio rear hydraulic shock absorber designed for 50cc two-stroke scooters. It is a single-chamber damper with an integrated coil spring that absorbs road vibrations and manages chassis stability. This original part number, 600489000C, has been replaced in the Piaggio catalog by 648090000C and subsequently succeeded by the active part number 668007000C.

Fitment Details
Secure the scooter on its center stand and support the rear wheel to prevent the engine swingarm from dropping. Unbolt the upper mount from the frame and the lower mount from the engine crankcase, keeping the original flat washers and self-locking nuts. Inspect the upper rubber buffer mount (178150) for cracking or dry rot, as a worn buffer transfers harsh road impacts directly into the frame. Apply a thin layer of waterproof grease to the mounting bolts to prevent rust seizing, then torque both fasteners to factory specifications.
