Product Description

This genuine Yamaha factory-original master cylinder reservoir diaphragm is a premium rubber insert designed to seal the front brake reservoir. It acts as a barrier, preventing air and moisture from contaminating the brake fluid, which can cause spongy lever feedback and brake fade. The flexible ribbed accordion design naturally expands and contracts as fluid levels fluctuate in the reservoir during brake pad wear, maintaining a proper seal without creating a vacuum.

Vehicle Compatibility

Make Model Range Application
Yamaha FJ1100 / FJ1200 (1984–1993) Front Brake Master Cylinder
Yamaha V-MAX 1200 (1985–2007) Front Brake Master Cylinder
Yamaha FZ750 / FZ600 / FZX700 Fazer Front Brake Master Cylinder
Yamaha SRX600 (1986) Front Brake Master Cylinder
Yamaha YX600 Radian (1986–1990) Front Brake Master Cylinder

Note: This specific rectangular master cylinder diaphragm is a highly versatile standard seal used across almost all of Yamaha’s premium 1980s street, sport, and touring models.

Fitment Details

This is a direct OEM replacement. Before fitting, completely clean any old, crystallized brake fluid or debris from the reservoir rim and the cap plate. Carefully seat the rubber diaphragm into the reservoir recess—make sure it lies completely flat and square. Ensure the small plastic diaphragm bushing/plate (if equipped) sits properly on top before threading down the metal cover plate. Tighten the reservoir screws evenly but gently; over-tightening will pinch and distort the rubber gasket, causing fluid to leak onto your paintwork.
