Product Description
Yamaha Genuine factory tachometer drive cable assembly (TACHOMETER CABLE ASSY). Features high-tensile inner steel flexible shaft housed within a low-friction, heavy-duty black protective outer sheath with factory-installed threaded knurled sleeve connectors and rubber boot covers. Engineered specifically for early-to-mid 1980s Yamaha DT dual-sport and trail bikes (17T model prefix) to transmit engine RPM directly from the drive gear takeoff to the analog instrument cluster. Manufactured in Japan by Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd.

Fitment & Technical Details
Direct OEM replacement instrument drive cable. Route along original frame tube clips away from exhaust pipe heat and sharp bending angles. Lubricate inner flexible drive cable lightly with cable grease before insertion and hand-tighten the threaded collar nuts onto both the engine drive takeoff and instrument housing base.
