Work in a clean, well-ventilated workspace free from fuel vapors and fire hazards. Remove the seat bucket storage compartment and body panels required to access the upper engine intake tract. Unbolt the old hardened or cracked rubber joints from the cylinder head ports, clean the mounting mating surfaces thoroughly to remove old gasket residue or grit, and inspect the sealing O-rings. Install the new 5GJ-13586-02 genuine carburetor joint with the correct directional orientation, tighten the retaining bolts evenly to factory torque specifications, and seat the carburetor spigots firmly into the rubber boots without folding or pinching the inner lips.Verification: Joint clamps down squarely with zero vacuum leaks, eliminating hanging idles, hesitation, or uneven fueling across both cylinders.
