Product Description

This is a genuine factory-original, non-sealed 520-pitch, 114-link high-performance motocross drive chain. Manufactured by Daido Kogyo Co. (D.I.D.) under their lightweight, low-friction "DS" racing specification, this chain is built without O-rings to eliminate parasitic drag and maximize power transfer directly to the rear wheel. It is engineered to handle the sudden shock loads, heavy landings, and high-RPM power bands of vintage two-stroke dirt bikes.

Note: Over time, Yamaha has cataloged several successor numbers for this 114-link sequence, including 9Y581-92113, 9Y581-68113, and 9Y581-44113.

Fitment Details

Because this is a non-sealed racing chain, it is supplied with a standard clip-style master link (matching joint part number 94685-20001 / 94681-68001) for easy, trackside removal and maintenance. When fitting, ensure the closed end of the master link clip points in the direction of the chain's forward travel to prevent it from catching and popping off. Keep your chain slack adjusted to 30–45 mm (usually measured behind the slider on the swingarm with the rear wheel on a stand). Clean, dry, and spray with a quality dedicated chain lubricant after every track session or muddy trail run to prevent binding and premature sprocket wear.
